This category on my blog will be dedicated to those celebrities that have recently left us. My parents always believed that you should remember people the way that they were and not how they died, or what they looked like when they died, etc. but what they were at their brightest, most finest hour. Always remember the good times because they are what gets you through the bad ones. Or so I’m told…

Farrah Fawcett on The Dating Game – And such a young beauty here, too. Just wait until you hear how stupid the guys sound…I mean really, did men think this kind of behavior was smooth and alluring? *Sigh* Poor Farrah in this one, mmmmkayy?farrahdatinggame

Farrah on Johnny Bravo-This cartoon is hilarious to begin with, but then they add Farrah to it and make it even better!

And of course, Farrah on Charlie’s Angels – This is the pilot episode of this much beloved show.

So that is my purpose with this category, to make sure that in the light of a celebrity’s death, no matter HOW they died, that we remember them the way that they were. The way they were when we fell in love with them.

Thanks for looking….and thank you for remembering these dearly departed celebrities with me!

My Feelings About Michael Jackson’s Death….

1958-2009 RIP

R.I.P

I’m sorry I haven’t blogged about Michael Jackson until now, But 1. I was and AM STILL in complete shock. I was but a child when Beat It became the huge single it did for MJ and that put him on the world map but for good. This is huge for me. I feel like the kid in me just aged 20 years…I shit you not.  And 2.  I wanted to get a good handle on what the Media was saying and what my sources in Los Angeles were telling me, since I believe one group WAY over the other!

And to be honest, Michael Jackson’s death sounds similar to Anna Nicole Smith’s and Heath Ledger’s deaths. And what sickens me even more is that this seems to be a growing trend with celebrities (and probably civilians alike, we just don’t hear about those deaths anywhere near as much.) and in the end the reason for these celebrities dying will always overshadow the talent of that celebrity and achievements they contributed to the world.“Yeah, Michael Jackson was a great artist, but did you hear how he died?” is what we will hear about these people for the rest of our lives. But it is something I will never, EVER let change my appreciation for what those celebrities gave to us. It’s the same reason I still love Seinfeld and Michael Richards, despite his bigoted and racial slurs. I believe love should be unconditional….and manners dictate that everyone is entitled to their opinions and it doesn’t mean we have to shun or loathe those we disagree with…c’mon people!!  Anyway, don’t get me started on manners or lack thereof within the human condition…right Cyndi? Mo? Anyone? *Wink*

Ok, like I said this celebrity death smacks of others we have heard lately, EXCEPT we have a “personal physician” involved who apparently was performing CPR on Michael Jackson WHILE HE WAS IN BED….um, HELLO???? ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about CPR knows the bed is NOT the place to perform it. On top of that, they found traces of Lidocaine on Michael’s body…and to not have Narcan on hand, just in case? WTF??? Oh, and did ANYONE hear of a defib machine (defibrillator) being used prior to the paramedics getting there?  Uh…no. It SO smacks of old school doctoring to me…and this is coming from a kid who’s mother was a nurse and would have been 76 this year…I know the sounds of old school doctoring when I hear it, BELIEVE ME.  AND even after the paramedics declared Michael dead, this “personal physician” was STILL beating on Michael’s chest? Hmmmm….

How did that doctor NOT know he gave MJ too high a dosage? Respiratory distress is sign #1 too much Demerol/Morphine has been given. And on a man as slight as Michael Jackson that distress would be noticed almost immediately. So unless Michael was lying down in bed and the doctor went in and gave him the injection and left again, how did no one see the cardiac arrest event itself? Although cardiac arrest is not as violent as a heart attack, it doesn’t happen UNNOTICED either, unless said person is ALONE.

But, the pièce de résistance was when they towed the Docs car away…. is all I’m sayin’…..

Oh, and that 911 call? I can’t say it sounded rehearsed, but there was an element in that dude’s voice that strikes me as odd.  And since Michael Jackson (MICHAEL JACKSON FOR GOD’S SAKE) was no longer breathing and the guy who called 911 must have realized that he (Michael Jackson)was DEAD at that point, why he didn’t say “Hey DUDE MICHAEL JACKSON IS NOT BREATHING” to the 911 dispatcher is beyond me . And before you get on me about his privacy, I dig that. He probably had his employees TRAINED to say that…but still, it is odd….don’t you think?

Again, I’m just sayin’…

And one last thing? I feel really bad for Farrah Fawcett. That woman died with as much dignity as her illness would allow and even in death, she was “overshadowed” by the tragic death of Michael Jackson. I just hope you all will take a moment to thank Farrah for what she gave us and for what she embodied. She too was a beautiful light that was extinguished far too early. (My mother was also 62 when she died of breast cancer in 1996.) And, just because they’re dead, doesn’t mean they aren’t still here with us and can’t hear and see everything we humans are doing. Believe me, my mother and father BOTH proved that to me on their passing and still to this day (hell, just last night…. ) I love them so much for that. So having said that…

Thank you Michael and Farrah both, for sharing your life and your talents with us…may you rest in peace for all of eternity.

Good night all.
